Karla attributes her vision of turning eating tacos into a complete experience to the childhood memories she has. Born in Mexico City, she travelled to her parent’s homestate of Michoacan to vacation at her grandmother’s house, which she nicknamed “El Carmen”. She spent her time at “El Carmen” letting her imagination run wild in every corner of the house. She remembers the pigs, goats, and chickens that lived there and the many citrus fruit trees. She loved the smell of fresh coffee brewing and she loved to help shuck the corn for the tamales and play with the cornhusk dolls she would make. She enjoyed taking in all the smells of fresh corn and freshly baked bread while her brothers and cousins played.
Karla used these memories as a way to fuel all her business ventures. For her, there is nothing that compares with the taste and the feeling that comes with eating tacos. It’s not just eating tacos, it’s spending time with loved ones and having fun!
